Mike re-joined Ray’s in 2023 after a previous five-year stint. He has worked in the hospitality industry for 20 years. Mike joined Rays in 2023 after working in the restaurant and hospitality industry for over nine years. Mike has previously held positions of ever-increasing responsibilities including server, bartender, and assistant general manager. Mike believes every guest should have a first-class experience. He achieves this through pristine facilities and well-trained team members. Mike’s mission is to bring all elements of a great service together for a memorable guest visit. When he is not working, Mike is an avid golfer and passionate fan of the Georgia Bulldogs and Atlanta Braves.

Executive Chef

Executive Chef Gabriel Salinas has been with Ray's Restaurants for several years, working his way up from grill and prep cook to executive chef at Ray's at Killer Creek before transitioning to executive chef at Ray’s on the River. He is a proven leader and a focused member of the kitchen team at Ray’s Restaurants. Originally from Mexico City, Salinas picked up his love of cooking commercially from his father, who has been a chef in Nashville for decades. "He gave me the ethic of loving what you do in the service industry. I moved to Atlanta in 2010 and have worked at some great kitchens like Hal's ‘The Steakhouse’ and Stoney River. The quality of the ingredients and top cuts of beef and seafood at Ray's are a blessing to work with!" Salinas has two daughters and a son, and he enjoys spending time with his family cooking at home and exploring hiking trails. In free time, he enjoys training at the gym.

Executive Chef

Simon Young brings his passion for food, leadership, and creativity to Ray's on the River, where he leads the kitchen as executive chef. Discovering his love for the restaurant industry over 26 years ago, Young thrives in a hands-on environment, taking raw ingredients and turning them into truly special dishes for guests to enjoy. Young's management skills set him apart as a leader in the restaurant, overseeing the kitchen day-in and day-out and making him a wonderful addition to the Ray's Restaurants family.

Young was born and raised in New Zealand, where he found his passion for dining and the connection it brings to people across the globe. He went on to culinary school and graduated from Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of Technology before traveling across the world to perfect his craft - working in Christchurch, New Zealand, as executive chef of a local hotel before moving stateside to Key West, Florida, joining the La Trattoria team to serve Italian cuisine. Young eventually moved to Nashville, Tenn., heading the kitchen at The Pub before relocating to Atlanta in 2014. Serving as executive chef at Stoney River Steakhouse and Grill for two years, Young transitioned to South City Kitchen Buckhead in 2016 before joining Ray's Restaurants team in early 2021.

Young's belief that there is always room for growth drives him forward as a chef and leader, delivering an exceptional meal to each guest dining with Ray's on the River. Professionally, he enjoys teaching others how to create various types of cuisines and competes in Ironman Triathlons in his spare time.

Hallie Wheeler Russell

Sales & Events Manager

Hallie joined Ray's in 2015. She started as a hostess while in college. Hallie enjoyed her experiences at Ray's so much that she changed he major to hospitality and has continued her career, since graduation, serving in all front of the house positions. Currently she is a sales and events associate. Hallie enjoys the detailed planning of events and making the guests experience a memorable one. When she is not at work she enjoys spending time with family and her two Dalmatians

LaToya first joined Ray's in 2007 where she spent 10 years with the company. She has spent over 20 years in the hospitality industry in positions ranging from front of house to chef. When she rejoined Ray's in the City in June 2022, she was the sales and events associate. Doing an amazing job, she shortly got promoted to Sales & Events Manager at Ray's at Killer Creek. LaToya's overall knowledge of the restaurant business allows her to design and provide for great events for all of Ray's guests.
